Nox Player Settings to Fix lag and Increase FPS
Nox player is one of the most used emulators for playing games. It is quite popular, especially with Pubg mobile players. is one of the most fantastic android emulators for Gaming. The main reason for that is its ability to customize and allocate CPU and RAM resources to Gaming. So here is a noobs2pro special guide On how to optimize Nox Player Settings to fix lag for high-end games like PUBG mobile and call of duty.
Nox Player Performance and Optimization settings
There are three types of settings you can change:
- Performance Settings
- Game Settings
- System settings
CPU: Same as your CPU Cores
Set it the same as your CPU Cores so that you can get the best performance. You should not be using other apps while using the NOX player as it will cause lag while playing high-end games. I recommend using all the cores you have on your system so that you get the best performance for Gaming.
RAM: Same as your Ram
If you want the best gaming experience on NOX the give it all the Ram you have. Running Games Like Pubg and call of duty requires a lot of RAM. Even after using my PUBG Mobile Optizmation guide. I recommend giving it at least 4GB Ram for smooth gameplay. 8gb ram is recommended for better gaming performance.
Rendering Mode = DirectX OR OpenGL (Only for old systems)
This setting depends on your system. If you have a very old system or a laptop then go with OpenGL. If you have a newer system and one of the latest GPUs, then use DirectX. With older systems and GPUs, OpenGL works better and faster but it works only for older systems.
I recommend testing the FPS in each mode so you know which is the right one for you.
But in my opinion, DirectX is the best for most games. So go with the speed (DirectX) mode
Resolution Setting: Depends on your screen size
Honestly speaking if you have a large screen that is over 20 inches then go with 1920X1080 or 1600X900. Those are the recommended settings for large screens.
If you are using a laptop then 1280X720 or if you have a good GPU then 1600X900 resolution is the best. Do note higher resolutions can cause lag. But low resolutions can cause blurry textures. So select according to your system. 1600X900 is best if you don’t know what to choose.
Frame Rate: Set it to 60
This setting limits the in-game FPS. Setting it to 60 will give an excellent lag-free gameplay experience on NOX Player. There are only a few games that support 120 FPS. So the game you are playing does support 120 fps then go for it. Otherwise, focus on 60 fps. 60fps is the best setting to fix lag while gaming.
Mouse Acceleration: Enable (Disabling windows mouse acceleration)
Mouse acceleration is good for browsing but not for gaming. While playing games you can aim better when you have windows mouse acceleration disabled. So tick the checkbox
Open ASTC Texture: Enable (Depends on games)
ASTC works really well for some games but lags on others. It works well in pubg mobile on my system. I still recommend testing it on your individual system just to make sure you get the best FPS with ASTC texture enabled. I recommend enabling it.

Process Priority: High
When you start a Game in Memu Emulator do the following :
- Press Alt+Tab.
- Go to the desktop.
- Start Task Manager.
- Find the Process for Nox Player
- Set Its Priority as HIGH.
The image below shows how you can do it:
Allocated Virtual Memory: Double your actual RAM
Your virtual memory should be double your actual RAM. This memory is used when the system runs out of Ram, so the more you have, the better.
This setting is hidden inside system settings.
Go to control panel>System and security.
System>advanced system settings>
Set it as double your actual Ram. Mine is 8GB Ram, so I used 16000mb(16gb)
